CRLF 2021 Gala Dinner

Celebrating 5 Years of Hope: A Look Back at the 2021 CRL Gala Dinner & Silent Auction

When it comes to fighting cancer, the standard path can feel incredibly rigid and often isolating. But at the Cancer Research and Life Foundation, the mission has always been to break through that barrier and connect with patients on a truly human level.

To celebrate 5 Years of Hope, the foundation hosted its 2021 Gala Dinner & Silent Auction at the DoubleTree Hotel Irvine Spectrum in Irvine, California. The evening was a powerful gathering of doctors, nurses, patient advocates, and survivors celebrating the life-changing impact of precision medicine and compassionate care.

Here is a look back at the moments that made the night unforgettable:

Stories of True Healing

The heart of the evening belonged to the survivors. Guests listened to deeply moving, personal testimonials from patients who shared their journeys through late-stage diagnoses. They spoke of the relief of finding an integrative, non-toxic approach that built their bodies back up rather than tearing them down, ultimately allowing them to stand before the crowd cancer-free.

A New Way of Thinking: Art, Math, and Faith

Dr. M.A. Nezami spoke about the critical need for oncologists to truly connect with the people they treat, removing the clinical vacuum that so often separates doctors and patients.

Dr. Nezami explained his unique approach to targeting cancer stem cells, describing medicine as a delicate mix of three things:

  • Art: Having the imagination to see a patient fully healed.

  • Math: Utilizing advanced mathematical biology and genomic profiling to objectively track and target the exact genetic drivers of a tumor.

  • Faith: Facing advanced illness with absolute courage and an unwavering belief in recovery.

He also shed light on the power of epigenetics, explaining how natural treatments can act like a switch to turn off cancer causing genetic signals, effectively turning back the clock on the disease without the toxic side effects of traditional chemotherapy.

Coming Together to Make a Difference

The night wrapped up with an energetic silent auction to raise much needed funds for patient treatment grants. Guests took home some incredible items, including a weekend stay at the DoubleTree Irvine, hand signed sports memorabilia, and an exclusive private dinner experience at the Double Tree Hotel in Irvine, California.

Every bid and every donation directly supports the foundation’s goal: ensuring that cutting-edge translational science is available to patients who need it most, regardless of financial or insurance hurdles. Because as the foundation's core motto reminds us: We rise by lifting others.
