Dealing with a terminal diagnosis is something no one can ever truly prepare for, but Patricia’s story is a powerful reminder of what it means to keep fighting against all odds.
At just 47 years old, Patricia was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer, a battle linked to an inherited genetic disorder. After exhausting every traditional Western medical treatment available to her, as well as multiple alternative options, she found herself at a terrifying crossroads. But instead of giving up, she decided to look across the country for a lifeline.
Traveling over 2,000 miles from New York to California, Patricia sought out Dr. Nezami at the Medical Center of Hope as her ultimate last resort to buy more time and, simply put, stay alive. Having just turned 50, she feels she still has so much life left to live.
The Hidden Cost of the Fight
While her spirit is resilient, the financial reality of advanced cancer care in this country is overwhelming. Like many people in their late 40s and early 50s, Patricia doesn't have a massive retirement fund built up to cover astronomical, out-of-pocket medical expenses.
This video is a raw, heartfelt appeal for a second chance. Every donation made through the Cancer Research and Life Foundation directly helps patients like Patricia afford these critical, last-chance treatments.
